NARRA STUDIO @ Harana market

“NARRA STUDIO was founded with two goals in mind: to celebrate the diverse and rich heritages of the Philippines and to connect Filipinos around the world to their cultures.

We work directly with culture bearers, traditional artisans, and indigenous communities throughout the Philippines and provide them a way to expand their reach, a place to showcase their work in the U.S. Each purchase you make supports artisans dedicated to their craft. When these artisans are able to practice their craft sustainably, they’re also able to pass their knowledge and skills onto the next generation, preserving ancestral traditions for years to come.”

-Katte Geneta of NARRA STUDIO

We are proud to partner with NARRA STUDIO to bring these unique and timeless works-of-art to the Catskill Mountains. The artisans that Katte partners with are masters of their craft and it is a privilege for us all to be able to experience their artworks in person.

Our desire to partner with NARRA STUDIO is intentional and reaches beyond the tangible things they bring to our Market and community. We see this as an opportunity. to build a deeper connection to our family ancestry and their traditions, while uplifting traditional art forms and indigenous communities throughout the Philippines.

When we met Katte in-person for the first time, she acknowledged that there are parts of these communities meant to be kept sacred for the communities themselves. But there are parts of the culture - including the fabrics, jewelry, homewares and of course, the food - that are meant to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.

We know the magnificence of these artisans, and we are excited to share them with you. When you make a purchase from NARRA STUDIO at Harana Market, you are contributing to an honorable eco-system that fights to preserve our people’s traditional art forms.
